Can you please share a little bit about yourself and your involvement with ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú life?
I’ve had the privilege to attend ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú since I was in Year 5 in 2019. I enjoy playing football, cooking and spending time with loved ones. I am a proud representative of Dobell house and love getting involved in any aspect I can at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú. Whether it’s Duke of Edinburgh, swimming carnivals or Off the Shelf I enjoy making the most out of my ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú experience by putting myself out there despite not being the best at it. I strive to be a positive and approachable person to all at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú - spreading kindness to all!
What is your favourite subject and why?
Despite enjoying all of my subjects Biology and Studies of Religion have been my favourites recently. I find biology deeply fascinating as everything is so relevant and interesting- whether we are learning about genetics or the lines of defence Ms Norton always makes every lesson so engaging and one to look forward to. Studies of Religion however is a lesson I love as Ms Peters makes everyone feel so welcomed and included in every class discussion. In addition to making the classroom environment harmonious, learning about different religions such as Buddhism and Islam enables me to understand different perspectives on way individuals view life.
Can you tell us about a memorable project or activity you’ve done this year?
As common of an answer this is, I would absolutely have to say my Outback experience. Being able to spend two weeks with my year group, travelling many hours on buses, camping together truly was such a special time for me. A distinct memory from Outback was in Cooper Pedy when all of the girls came together, bonded and chatted as one. This was a moment where I felt like I was surrounded by not just friends, but family. It made me feel so grateful to have a support network around me, this truly made my Outback trip.
What do you feel is special about the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú environment and community?
I truly believe the passion the teachers convey truly shapes the environment and community ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú is. Everyone always says when you have a ‘good teacher’ the subject is more enjoyable. I believe this statement carries beyond the classroom and truly shapes the community ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú is. The passion the teachers carry at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú is evident in the way students interact with each other and uphold the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú values. To me, I can confidently say ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú does feel like a second home to me.  A place where I look forward to going to and a place where I feel cared for deeply by the teachers.
